Provas de Notes/Domino 6/6.5 só estarão disponíveis até 31/dez/2007!

A Lotus acabou de anunciar que as provas para se tirar certificação em Notes/Domino 6/6.5 serão indisponibilizadas no fim do ano:

Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 Application Development Exams:

• Exam 610, Notes Domino 6 Application Development Foundation Skills Exam
• Exam 611, Notes Domino 6 Application Development Intermediate Skills Exam
• Exam 612, Notes Domino 6: Developing Web Applications Exam

Lotus Notes and Domino 6/5.5 System Administration Exams:

• Exam 620, Notes Domino 6 System Administration Operating Fundamentals Exam
• Exam 621, Notes Domino 6: Building the Infrastructure Exam
• Exam 622, Notes Domino 6: Managing Servers and Users Exam

Após esta data, só se poderá marcar provas de certificação na versão 7 e 8 dos produtos.

Além disso, a prova para se obter o título de IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator na versão 6/6.5 estará disponível apenas até 31 de janeiro de 2008, junto com as seguintes provas:

• Exam 513, Using JavaScript in Notes Domino Applications
• Exam 273, LotusScript in Notes for Advanced Developers
• Exam 516, Using Java in Notes Domino Applications
• Exam 623, Notes Domino 6: Configuring Domino Web Servers

Após essas duas datas apenas a prova de update de 6/6.5 para 7 continuará disponível.

IBM Certified Advanced Security Professional - Lotus Notes and Domino 7

Shameless self-promotion moment :-) This was probably the hardest test by far that I have taken from Lotus. You must pass each section individually, so no point in getting an "average" score. You can get 100% on 2 sections, but if you get below 75% on any of them, you fail. Resources I used to prepare for this exam were:

Notes and Domino 8 Certification Update Exams are out!

IBM Lotus and Prometric just released this wednesday (if I'm not mistaken) the new exams for Notes and Domino 8 Certification:

IBM Certified Application Developer Lotus Notes and Domino 8	You must be an IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 7 or an IBM Certified Advanced Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 7 -and- You must pass Exam 801: IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 Application Development Update.
IBM Certified System Administrator Lotus Notes and Domino 8	You must be an IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 7 or an IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 7 -and- You must pass Exam 802: IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 System Administration Update.

The IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 System Administration Update exam seems to be a lot more complex, and includes integration points with new IBM products, such as:

Domino and DB2 Integration

• Enabling a DB2 default user name
• Installing the DB2 access server
• Locking DB2 groups
• Understanding DB2 containers
• Understanding DB2 integration enhancements

Install and Configure

• Implement Sametime for Domino Web Access (DWA)
• Understanding Websphere Portal integration enhancements

Managing Servers

• Connecting Lotus Domino and Websphere Portal
• Integrating Domino and IBM CommonStore Archive Services
• Integrating Domino and the Tivoli Enterprise Console

Security

• Integrating Websphere and Domino with tokens

New IBM Certification: IBM Certified SOA Associate

IBM has released an entry-level certification for those interested in validating their ability to "articulate the business and technical value of SOA. The candidate can describe the business structure of an organization at a high level and identify where in that line of business SOA can provide value."
The recommend skills are as follows:

• Basic understanding of security concepts
• Basic understanding of multiple operating systems including z/OS
• Basic understanding of broker Publish/Subscribe functionality
• Basic understanding of supported WebSphere Message Broker transports
• Administration experience on at least one supported operating system
• Good understanding of at least one supported relational database product
• Good understanding of the Eclipse tooling platform
• Administration experience on WebSphere MQ V5.3 or WebSphere MQ V6.0
